A former US politics breaking news editor in Washington, DC, I am presently Head of Communications & Platform at Cherry Ventures in Berlin. Cherry backs founders across Europe and industries. Our sweet spot? Seed stage.
Before jumping into European tech, I was a journalist. Most recently, as a freelancer, I worked with several companies including Deutsche-Presse Agentur, TransferWise, Silicon Allee, and Sifted, an FT-backed news site on European tech. Prior to my transatlantic move, I was the White House and Capitol Hill assignment editor at CNN. Early in my tenure, I received special training and authorization to write, edit, and distribute broadcast and digital ready news alerts and analysis about US politics to CNN platforms worldwide.
I moved to Germany as a Fulbright scholar in 2018, receiving one of five Young Professional Journalist grants given to professional American journalists to conduct independent research. With support from the German Federal Foreign Office and US State Department, I explored contemporary efforts to identify (and reveal) looted art and artifacts in public and private collections in the Bundesrepublik. Although my Fulbright formally ended, my research sparked a lifelong interest and I am continuing my work in this area and into museums in my spare time.
