‘Tseli Khiba, a commercial lawyer from Maseru, Lesotho worked on one of the first operator’s (cannabis licence) to be issued by the government of Lesotho in 2017. Subsequently, she has attended numerous cannabis and drug-related conferences, including the popular CannaTech Conference, and the United Nations Conference on Narcotic Drugs in 2020. Her aim is to to facilitate networking between cannabis industry players across the continent, the broader African diaspora, and other potential international partners. She is involved in advocacy efforts to ensure the protection of human rights and fair labour practices in the cannabis industry through the Toronto-based Cannabis Education Guild.Tseli is involved in advocacy efforts to reform and commercialise the cannabis industry across the African continent. She continues to work with companies whose operations and interests flow between Lesotho and South Africa, and participates in efforts to unlock Africa’s industrial hemp industry and commercial cannabis legislation.’
