Co-founder, chief technology officer & board director; Severin Hacker, Ph.D. has served as our Chief Technology Officer and a member of our board since co-founding Duolingo with Luis von Ahn in August 2011. Severin holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule Zurich, Switzerland, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
