I’m passionate about using technology to expand access to financial services that have been reserved for large institutions and/or the wealthy. My 8 years in China gave me the analytical framework and communication skills to navigate a global financial system that is becoming more integrated yet more susceptible to disruption and change. Bitcoin, Ethereum and decentralized networks enable new ways of organizing people and institutions, but implementation presents a whole net set of challenges. As I was leaving China in 2017, I fell down the Bitcoin/crypto rabbit hole, joining ICOAGE, a Chinese ICO platform incubated by Fenbushi Capital in Shanghai to run their international operations, before shifting to BTC Labs, the advisory and special project arm BTC Media based in Nashville. Over the last three years, I've been focused on the Ethereum space, specifically governance and decentralized finance (DeFi). I spent time at Concourse Open (DeFi Pulse, ETH Gas Station) working on strategy and have written the Dose of DeFi newsletter (www.doseofdefi.com) since May 2019. Now, I spend most of my time contributing to DXdao, a decentralized collective that lives on Ethereum that builds and governs DeFi products. My focus is governance and product strategy. And still interested in China. Mostly in Brooklyn these days.
