I’m Max Lenderman. I create, teach and write about new advertising and marketing macro-trends that prove my professional thesis that “brands are verbs.” My passion (and expertise) is to find new ways for brands to positively impact culture through innovation. purpose and experience. My mentors, managers, employees and peers agree that personally and professionally I “give a shit.” I’ve successfully founded and exited two creative agencies: Gearwerx, specializing in brand experience, and School, specializing in brand purpose. I’ve been honored to be a creative leader at amazing agencies: GMR Marketing, the world’s largest experiential agency; Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, the most awarded agency of the 21st century; and Project:Worldwide, the leading independent network of creativity. I’ve written two books: Experience the Message, which was named “the best book on experiential marketing,” and Brand New World, which has so far been translated into five languages. A third book is in the works. I write the "Into the Metaverse" column for Campaign magazine and am on the Academic Council at Adweek. I am a founding member of the World Experience Organization and participate on the CX Council at the 4As. I've also judged the North American Finals for the Effie Awards six years in a row. I love to teach what I know. That’s why I’m an instructor at Denver Ad School, an adjunct professor of advertising at University of Colorado, Boulder, and a visiting lecturer at Solvay (Brussels) School of Business. Throughout my career, I’ve never stopped mentoring young talent. I’m a former US Peace Corps Volunteer. I drilled water wells for schools in Chad. Now, I support Pencils of Promise to actually build schools in developing countries. I work harder now than I did when I first started out. And I find deep balance and gratitude in family, footie and far-out travel. Thanks for reading.
