Jens is one of Europe’s most active angel investors, making 20 investments per year. Based in Berlin, he is CEO of Angel Invest. The Angel Invest portfolio of 50+ companies have raised over $300m in funding. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Techstars, where he launched the German office and invested in 40 companies that have raised $200m+ in funding. Before Techstars, Jens was a partner at Forward Labs (now Forward Partners), which he co-founded in 2012. Forward Labs launched a new product per month using lean startup principles. Forward Partners became London's largest operational VC firm. Before Labs, Jens co-founded and was CEO of aiHit, a provider of automated company data to the business information industry. aiHit was backed by Amadeus and VTB Capital and later acquired by MatchDeck. Prior to this, he was the VP Analysis & Consulting at Library House (now Dow Jones), a business information and research company, which he helped grow from seven to over 50 employees within four years. During his PhD at Cambridge University, he developed, patented and licensed new water technology. Jens lives in Berlin with his wife Iris and their two daughters.
