Hilda is an Award winning sustainable investments and inclusive innovation professional. She has gained over 7 years of experience in business development and public private partnerships. Her experience as an independent consultant, social entrepreneur and inclusive innovation practitioner, has exposed her to people and projects which span the globe. She runs Webloom Africa, an intiative mainstreaming gender-lens investing in Africa.She achieves this by collaborate with African innovation hubs to co-design female targeted entrepreneurial programs and build a pipeline of investable women-led African enterprises. Alongside this we convene impact investors around workshops which connect them to African innovation hubs and sensitise them about opportunities in adopting a localised gender-lens while investing in Africa. She is also the Sustainability Engagement Manager at Tech4Dev, Tech4Impact’s dedicated global South program housed at the Vice-Presidency for Innovation (VPI), EPFL where she is bridging the gap between technology, innovation and social impact. Previously, as an independent consultant, she guided The MasterCard Foundation in the optimization and increase of its direct partnerships with African-led organizations. This was a response to The Foundations commitment to have African-led organizations comprise at least 30 percent of our partnerships across their Programs from the present 23 percent. This entailed carrying out rigorous evaluation of multiple organisations and methodologies in order to accurately inspect their sustainability and intended impact. Additionally, she worked with Siemens AG in their pursuit to construct a bottom-up approach to electrify areas with no access to electricity, particularly in Africa. Based in Namibia at the time, my role was identifying and engaging key stakeholders in the public and private sector in the renewable energy space in Namibia for the development and implementation of a rural electrification pilot project.
